The SCRA collects, holds, and processes personal information in respect of our Members.
The personal information that we collect, hold, and process for each Member is limited to:
Name
Address
Email Address
Telephone / Mobile Number
Residential Status (i.e. homeowner or tenant)
We use this information to enable us to communicate with Members of the SCRA on matters relating to their membership, and relating to the activities of the SCRA.
We use the personal information relating to each Member on the basis of their consent. Consent must be explicitly given at the time of application for membership of the SCRA.
Personal information may be stored on a paper-based system or recorded on computer. Paper-based records are stored securely, and computer records are password-protected.
Personal information will be retained only for as long as the subject is a Member of the SCRA. However, minutes of meetings containing details of attendance and matters discussed will be retained in perpetuity or until the Committee of the SCRA considers that they are no longer required for record purposes or on grounds of historical value.
At any time, you can request to see the personal information relating to you which is held by the SCRA. If you believe the information is incorrect, you can request to have it corrected or deleted. As a Member of the SCRA, you may withdraw your consent for us to hold some or all of your personal information at any time, but this may impact your membership. If it does, we will inform you of the implications there may be if this data is destroyed, so that you can make an informed decision. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal information, you can contact our Data Protection Officer, who will investigate the matter, consult with the Data Controller, and respond to you as promptly as possible.
If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your data in a way that is not in accordance with the law, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (the ICO).
